Eleonora Peronetti is an Italian set and costume designer. From 2013 to 2017 she studied set design at the NABA (New Academy of Fine Arts) in Milan, where she currently teaches a course for set design students entitled "Digital Technologies and their Application". Her first independent work in theatre was the set design for the play Magzhan at the Turkestan Music and Drama Theatre in Kazakhstan (directed by Chiara Osella and Davide Livermore, 2022). She also worked as a costume designer in the team of the renowned French choreographer Angelin Preljocaj for his dance performances Torpeur (Montpellier Dance Festival, 2023) and Birthday Party (a co-production with the Fondazione Nazionale della Danza / Aterballetto), which premiered in 2023 at the Chaillot National Dance Theatre in Paris.
Prior to that, she worked as an assistant stage designer for opera, dance and drama productions in various theatres. These include Giordano's Fedora and André Chénier, Mussorgsky's Khovanshchina, Verdi's Rigoletto (directed by Mario Martone, set designer Margherita Palli) and Macbeth, Puccini's Tosca (directed by Davide Livermore, set designer Giò Foma) at the Teatro alla Scala in Milan; Gounod's Romeo and Juliet (directed by Mario Martone, set design by Margherita Palli) at the Piccolo Teatro in Milan; Mascagni's L’amico Fritz (directed by Rosetta Cucchi, set design by Gary McCann), Verdi's La Traviata (directed by Davide Livermore, Giò Foma) at the Teatro del Maggio Fiorentino in Florence and Giovanna d’Arco (dir. Davide Livermore, set designer Giò Foma) at the Teatro dell’Opera in Rome; Se questo e’ un uomo based on Primo Levi's memoirs from the Auschwitz concentration camp (dir. Valter Malosti, set designer Margherita Palli) at the Teatro Carignano in Turin; dance performances Winterreise (chor. Angelin Preljocaj, set designer Constance Gisset) and The Nutcracker (chor. George Balanchine, set and costume designer Margherita Palli) at the Teatro alla Scala in Milan.
Peronetti also curates exhibitions and has worked as a fashion events designer for the Outfit Company in Milan. Together with her mentor Margherita Palli, she created sets for the installation Il corridoio rosso (The Red Corridor, curated by Giovanni Agosti and Jacopo Stoppa) at the 23rd Milan Triennale – an extremely realistic reconstruction of a corridor in an early 20th century bourgeois apartment, where mystery lurks behind every door. The project appendix is the book of the same name (published by SPBH Editions), collecting 39 short stories, including that by Peronetti. She is also a member of the editorial board and a contributor to the Dizionario teatrale edited by Palli and published by NABA.
