Jonas Laucius graduated from the ballet department of the National M. K. Čiurlionis School of Arts in 2015 and completed a two-year internship at the Geneva Dance Centre (Switzerland). In 2013, he won a special prize at the IBBC competition in Riga.
Since 2015, he has joined the Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theatre ballet company as a soloist and principal soloist. Among his most prominent solo roles are Princes in Prokofiev’s Cinderella, Pawłowski’s Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs; Prince Siegfried and pas de trois in Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake; Prince Nutcracker in Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker; Indian Dancer, Slave in Minkus's La Bayadère; Lankedem, Conrad in Adam’s Le Corsaire (chor. Manuel Legris); Sigismund Augustus in Barbora Radvilaitė (chor. Anželika Cholina); King Mark in Tristan und Isolde to the music by Wagner (chor. Krzysztof Pastor); Friend, Toreador, Basilio in Minkus's Don Quixote; Mandarin in Bartók’s The Miraculous Mandarin (chor. Krzysztof Pastor); Soloist in Everywhere We Haven’t Been (chor. Martynas Rimeikis); Pas de quatre, pas de trois in La Piaf after the music of Édith Piaf (chor. Mauro Bigonzetti); Count, Officer in The Blue Danube to the music by J. Strauss II (chor. Andrei Melanyin); Prince Lemon, Cipollone in Karen Khachaturian’s ballet for children Cipollino; Advocate in Mindaugas Urbaitis’ ballet The Trial (chor. He won the Ballet Hope of the Year Award at the 2016 LNOBT Awards, and became Ballet Soloist of the Year 2018. In 2019, he graduated from the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre with a degree in classical dance and pedagogy.
